Who We Are...

We're Jay & Kat.  We've been married for 13 years now.  We  have two handsome boys (Eason & G.T.)   We live on the outskirts of Birmingham, Alabama.  We first started this site as a way of sharing pictures with family and friends.  We found it was a cool way  to meet other people who also like to ride and share a lot of the same interests.  The site costs us 6 bucks a month and is worth every penny.  We have no advertisers, no pop-ups and no virus malware!

We try to keep this site fun and as family oriented as possible... that is our goal.  Obviously, with pages covering biker rallies and other biker events... there will be some content that probably isn't suitable for children and that some people find offensive.  If you find this sort of material offensive - we suggest you click here.  Otherwise enjoy the site!

* Are you having trouble viewing vids or pic galleries?  Some galleries are in flash format and require that you have the latest Flash downloads.  Be patient, Flash may take a minute to load... depending on your connection.   Let us know if you are having trouble surfing us!

We appreciate the respect that everyone has shown this site. We're not perfect and we don't have this much fun all the time - like this site might suggest.  But we think "Laid Back... Never Bored " describes us best!  Check us out often, we're always adding something to the site.

We'd also like to thank everyone for all the mail and feedback that we've received and we have thrown together a few FAQ's below.  Keep in touch, Ride Safe.  Thanks, J & K

FAQ's

Q    Is that picture of Kat and the lightning real?

A    Everything in the picture is real (well almost everything).  Click here for more details.

Q    How often do you attend a bike rally?

A    With work and family obligations, we don't attend as many as you might think... especially for  promoting a website about bike trips.  Daytona and Panama City are the only official events that we've attended, but more are in the works.

Q    You've got to be kidding me!  You actually let Eason jump over G.T. on his dirt bike?  Is that pic for real?

A    Absolutely.  Okay, I just lied.  Or maybe not...  Do you work for DHR...?

Q    How long have you been riding?

A    Jay - started at age six, got  first Harley in 2005.  Kat - well... she's learning.

Q    What kind of Harley is that?

A    It's a 2006 Street Bob.  It's part of the Harley Dyna series.  It has the big V-Twin 88ci 1450cc and six speed trans.   Starting in 2007, they made it a standard 96ci.

Q    I saw a beautiful dog in a couple of pictures.  What kind of dog is that?

A    That is Sandy.  Sandy was homeless and neglected when we rescued her.  She is half Chow and half Golden.

Q    We're going to ride to [insert whatever here]... do you guys wanna come?

A    Do we want to?  Yes.  If it's doable, then we're there.  If we can't, don't take it personal - please!

Q    Where do you usually go out around Birmingham?

A    Typically if on the bike it's 29 Dreams or Iron Horse Cafe.

Q    You guys are kinda cute... are you swingers?

A    No, but I might consider trading Kat for a low mileage Road King Classic.

Q    Why the name Strange-Trip?

A   Merriam-Webster offers one definition of STRANGE as:  not before known, heard, or seen AND exciting wonder or awe.  <a journey filled with strange sights>.   Merriam-Webster goes on to define TRIP as:  to make a journey.  What better way to describe life and everything you encounter on this journey.  Every day brings before you sights unseen, words unheard and plenty of odd stuff along the way.   * Plus it was pretty damn hard to come with a dot com name that wasn't taken!

Lyrics from the Grateful Dead’s Truckin:

Sometimes the light's all shinin' on me;

Other times, I can barely see.

Lately it occurs to me ...

What a long, strange trip it's been.

Robert Hunter (The Grateful Dead)

Q    Can we link to your site?

A    Yes, but please ensure it is a relatively tasteful site that you are doing this from.  In return, I'd be happy to link to your site.  You can use the Strange-Trip banners below to link to us.

Laid Back... Never Bored.  Strange-Trip is a personal site with nothing to sell.  We make every effort to keep this site as family oriented as possible, while still keeping it fun.  We hope to cover a lot more in the future.  Daytona, Thunder Beach, Sturgis, Myrtle Beach and whatever else we can find.  We're from Alabama, but have met so many people from around the US (and other places).  Although we prefer Harley Davidson, just because you ride something else doesn't mean you aren't welcome here.  Triumph, Chopper, Indian, or  rice burning crotch rockets... whatever... drop in and check us out.  Ride Safe - J&K

For some reason, Google has been pretty damn hard on neglecting this site.  So we are attempting to make us easier to find by adding some actual text "key words"

Harley Davidson Biker or Biker Chic Alabama Florida, Tennessee Daytona, Bike Week Thunder Beach Panama City, Indian Triumph, Honda Yamaha Suzuki Kawasaki
